🛠️ More Space, More Care: Wilderness Is Growing!
Big changes are coming to Wilderness Animal Hospital, and we’re excited to bring you along for the journey!
More than a decade after our 2014 remodel, we’re growing again. In 2026, Wilderness is expanding into the neighboring suite, adding approximately 1,100 square feet to our hospital.
The expansion will give us more exam rooms, a larger treatment area, a dedicated dental suite, expanded spaces for our feline patients, and much-needed room behind the scenes for our team. Most importantly, these changes are designed to help us care for you and your pet more efficiently and comfortably.
🚧 What to Expect During Construction
We know renovations can be disruptive, especially in a veterinary hospital where keeping pets comfortable is important. Our construction plan is being carefully phased to minimize the impact on appointments and our day-to-day operations.
Here’s what you can expect:
Construction is estimated to take approximately 12 to 16 weeks
Loud construction work will be scheduled before or after hospital hours
Construction crews may be visible in the neighboring suite and parking lot during business hours
Parking is not expected to be affected
Most of the expansion will happen within the neighboring suite before connecting it to our existing hospital
There may be a brief period when appointment availability is slightly reduced as our team works within temporarily tighter spaces. We’ll do everything we can to keep these disruptions short and continue providing the care you depend on.
🐾 What’s Changing and Why It Matters
🩺 Four New Exam Rooms. Less Time in the Lobby
We’re growing from 5 active exam rooms to 8 and one comfort room, giving our team significantly more space to see patients.
More exam rooms mean greater flexibility for appointments and even less time spent waiting in the lobby. While the physical footprint of our lobby will become slightly smaller, we aren’t reducing the amount of seating available.
The goal is simple: spend less time waiting and more time getting your pet the care they need.
Thoughtful Spaces for Sensitive Patients
We’re making sure our expansion supports some of our most sensitive patients, too.
The expansion will also give us a dedicated comfort room. This comfort room will have doors leading directly outside to the parking lot, providing families with additional privacy during difficult visits.
🦷 A Dedicated Dental Suite and Expanded Treatment Space
Some of the biggest changes are happening behind the scenes.
Our new dedicated dental suite will feature two dental tables, doubling our current dental treatment capacity and giving our team a space specifically designed around dental procedures.
👩⚕️ Designed to Help Our Team Care for Your Pet
A better veterinary hospital isn’t only about the spaces clients see.
Our doctors will gain an expanded workspace with windows overlooking treatment, procedure, and dental areas, allowing them to maintain visibility of patient care while working at their stations.
Additional workstations, improved storage, a larger administrative office, and a more thoughtfully designed treatment area will help create a smoother workflow throughout the hospital.
You may never see some of these improvements firsthand, but they’ll help our team work together more efficiently and stay focused on what matters most: your pet.
📅 Expansion Timeline
Construction will begin: Monday, October 19, 2026
Construction is expected to end: Thursday, January 21, 2027
Much of the work will take place in the neighboring suite first, with the connection into our existing hospital occurring later in the project. This approach allows us to minimize disruption to the spaces you and your pet use during visits.
We’ll continue to share updates as construction progresses and more of our new space begins to take shape.
